Archive for June, 2010

I’d like to congratulate our winners: Tom C, Sharon K, Justin M, Bob N, Kevin P, and Dave W.  Each won 50 lbs of beef donated by Ken Naples Farms.  CCAT would like to extend thanks to everyone who purchased tickets.  We also had a side competition among our ticket sellers, Gale H sold the most tickets and will receive approximately 10 lbs of beef.  Congrats Gale, your hard work paid off.

The total amount raised was $1480.50 (don’t ask were the 50 cents came from but every little bit helps).  Total deductions for the processing fees and purchasing the raffle tickets came to $386.53 resulting in $1093.97 net total raised to help CCAT in its many endeavors to make Cheshire and the surrounding area a better place to raise our families.

The Goodnow’s will be playing from 12:00PM until 1:00 PM on the 4th at the Brown Hound Bistro.

Fred and Sara playing City of New Orleans Friday night at A’s Sweets and Treats in Cheshire. Come listen every Friday night and help support the Cheshire Meeting Hall Project.

CCAT and The Cheshire Meeting Hall restoration project will have a booth at the Annual Rotary Pier Festival in Canandaigua,  August 14 and 15.

Please make an effort to drop by to see our Power Point presentation.   If you have any spare time that weekend, we would appreciate any volunteers to “man” the booth.

OPEN  HOUSES  at the Cheshire Meeting Hall (old Grange building) will be June 20, July 18 and August 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

On July 4th Fred, along with sons John and Jay, will be entertaining at the Bistro’s Music Festival.  Should be great entertainment all day and fun for all.  Don’t have any start times yet.

Music For The GrangeA few of you have been asking me about playing again this summer at the Brown Hound Bistro in Bristol Springs so here are the play dates to which I have committed:   6/13,6/27,7/11, out of town 7/20 – 7/29, 8/1,8/8, out of town 8/21 – 8/29.  I usually get there and start playing at 10AM until ?  a couple of hours or – - – until folks quit putting money in the jar and start throwing stuff at me.  If all goes well, maybe we’ll continue into the Fall.

Our very own Fred Goodnow will be playing at A’s in beautiful downtown Cheshire on Friday evenings throughout the summer.  What could be better, great food, great friends and great music!  Perhaps other locals will join him from time to time to entertain as well as raise money for the Cheshire Meeting Hall project.

Fred will also be playing two Sundays a month for Brunch at the Brown Hound Bistro on Route 64 in Bristol Springs.

Everyone here at Cheshire CAT would like to extend thanks to Judi Cermack of the Ontario County Arts Council for donating many items they unfortunately no longer have use for.  They will be relocating their office to 175 South Main street inside Finger Lakes Gallery and Frame.  They have graciously donated approximately 10-12 long fold away tables, an equal number of large display panels on legs, 20 – 30 chairs, most of them stackable, children’s chairs, office chairs,  a very nice large office desk w/ matching credenza, heavy theater curtains,  and numerous misc. other items.  All of these items will be put to very good use at the future Cheshire Meeting Hall.
